Formby Injury & Rehab FAQs
Common questions on visiting the clinic and what to expect
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No. You don’t need a GP or consultant referral to book with us. You can book directly, whether you’re dealing with a new injury, ongoing pain, or simply want guidance on moving better.
What types of conditions do you treat?
We work with a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, including sports injuries, back and neck pain, joint problems, and long-standing aches or stiffness. If you’re unsure whether we’re the right fit, just get in touch and we’ll happily advise.
What can I expect from my first appointment?
Your first session focuses on understanding you and your problem. We’ll take the time to listen, assess what’s going on, and explain our findings clearly. You’ll leave with a structured plan and a clear idea of the next steps.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on the nature of your injury, your goals, and how your body responds to treatment. We’re upfront about expectations and will review progress regularly, adjusting your plan as needed.
Do you only treat sporty or active people?
Not at all. While we work with active individuals, many of our patients simply want to stay mobile, independent, and comfortable in everyday life. You don’t need to be an athlete to belong here.
Will I be given exercises?
In most cases, yes. Exercises are used to support your recovery and help build confidence in your movement. They’re tailored to your ability and lifestyle, and we’ll always explain why they matter.
Is treatment painful?
Treatment shouldn’t feel intimidating. Some techniques may feel uncomfortable at times, but we’ll always explain what we’re doing and work within your comfort levels.
