Yoga

At Formby Injury & Rehab Clinic, our yoga classes are designed to help you move with greater confidence, improve strength and mobility, reduce stress, and reconnect with your body in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Whether you’re completely new to yoga or have been practising for years, our classes are tailored to meet you where you are and help you progress at your own pace.

What to expect

What happens during a Yoga Session?

A yoga session will
combine movement, breathing, balance, strength, and mindfulness into one practice.

For some people, yoga is a way to improve flexibility and fitness. For others, it’s an opportunity to slow down, reduce stress, and create space in a busy life.

The beauty of yoga is that it can be adapted to suit anyone, regardless of age, experience, or fitness level.

Our aim is not to make you bend into complicated positions. Our aim is to help you move better, feel stronger, and develop a greater understanding of your body.

Yoga helps reduce all kinds of illness, pain, and injury. The following lists are a few examples of what yoga can help:

  • Back and neck pain

  • Shoulder, elbow, hip, knee,
    and ankle problems

  • Sports and activity-related injuries

  • Improve flexibility and mobility

  • Persistent or recurring pain

  • Stiffness and joint pain

  • Stress, anxiety & depression

  • Build strength and stability

Wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in, such as leggings, shorts, tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt or light sports top. Whether it’s your very first yoga class or you’ve practised before, you’re in safe hands.

Every session is designed to meet you where you are, with gentle guidance and different options for each movement. There’s no pressure to keep up or get every pose perfect—simply move in a way that feels comfortable for your body. If something doesn’t feel quite right, Sophie will be there to help, offering individual guidance so you can enjoy the class with confidence.

For your peace of mind, we’re committed to professional development, high ethical standards of practice & research. Our yoga instructor Sophie has undergone professional training in India to acquire her qualifications and is committed to continuous professional development with Formby Injury & Rehab.

Whether you’re completely new to yoga or have been practising for years, Sophie has a calm and welcoming way of helping people feel at ease. Her classes range from flowing Ashtanga and Vinyasa sessions to slower, restorative classes that focus on improving flexibility, building strength and helping your body recover from the stresses of everyday life.

She believes yoga isn’t about touching your toes or achieving the perfect pose—it’s about understanding your body, moving with confidence and enjoying the process. Alongside her weekly classes, Sophie also runs workshops and international retreats, helping people build lasting confidence both on and off the mat.
